My Journey into Lactation Consulting

I have always had a strong interest in infant feeding and have extensive experience n the NHS and Private Practice spanning over 36 years.

I have been qualified as a Midwife since 1985, a Lactation consultant since 2004 and qualified as a Tongue Tie Practitioner since 2005. Through my professional background in health care and my personal experiences as a mother, I am able to recognise the challenges many new parents and their families face with infant feeding.

I want to provide a service to families that combine professional expertise with compassionate and practical support. Over the years I have developed a deep understanding of the emotional and physical aspects of infant feeding, giving parents confidence to navigate any difficulties they may encounter.

I have worked and supported parents facing a wide range of feeding challenges, helping then to develop personalised strategies that make feeding their newborn a positive and achievable experience for both parent and baby.

I believe that every family’s infant feeding journey is unique and deserves tailored guidance. I take a holistic approach, combining practical advice with emotional support to ensure parents feel confident and empowered. From latching difficulties, be it breast or bottle, low milk supply to mastitis management and pumping advice, I provide clear, evidence-based solutions that are easy to implement at home.

My consultations focus on creating a supportive, non-judgemental environment where parents can ask questions freely and receive guidance suited to their individual circumstances.

I work closely with each family to develop personalised feeding plans, addressing both immediate challenges and long-term breastfeeding goals. This caring approach ensures that parents receive the reassurance and tools they need to achieve successful feeding outcomes for theirselves and their baby.
